#teamfourstar Rules
Updated on Friday, March 21st, 2008.
1. Always obey a channel operator immediately if they tell you to do something, regardless of whether or not it appears in this page.
2. We are not strict when it comes to typing here. However, we do require that shorthand internet speak, like "u" or "4", not be used. Smileys and acronyms, like 'lol' or 'AFAIK' are fine, though. Also, abuse of caps is not tolerated.
3. We do not allow abuse of the /me command, or excessive changing of nicks. We understand that the /me command can be fun, but using more than 5 of them in the span of a minute is overdoing it.
4. Do not flood or spam the channel. That simple. Using Mibbit's translator function is an example of spam. No one can read it. Thus, making it spam.
5. Do not bring personal arguments into the chatroom. Debates are one thing, but personal issues are another thing altogether.
6. Flaming is not tolerated. Period. For the record, flaming is a baseless, personal attack on another user. And not every type of negative comment is flaming. If you are unsure about a comment, ask an operator. Don't start accusing someone else of flaming.
7. Do not constantly advertise your site/MySpace/etc. Linking to them once or twice is perfectly fine. But constantly nagging people to view them is not allowed. Likewise, joining the channel, advertising a website, then leaving, will result in a 24 hour ban on your IP to be instated. Continuous instances of this can lead to stricter action.
8. Pornographic content is absolutely not allowed. Sexual discussion, on the other hand, is, so long as it does not regress into something inappropriate (IE: Overly descriptive events).
9. Illegal content, such as warez & ROMS, are not allowed. Posting of such can lead to an indefinite ban.
10. IF YOU ARE USING MIBBIT TO ACCESS #teamfourstar: PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THE TRANSLATOR FUNCTION UNLESS YOU ARE TRANSLATING INTO ENGLISH. Most of the channel is made up of English-speaking users, and we strongly advise that unless you are a non-English speaker, or not very good at speaking English, to refrain from using the translator function altogether.
11. If you've been banned, do not pester the operators to unban you. You are entitled to know why a ban has been set, and for how long it is, but beyond that, do not bother Operators about it. If you feel you have been banned in error, you can make a case, but be prepared to back up your claims. If this can not be done, it is more than likely that your claim will be denied. Also, if you feel that an Operator forgot to unban you, you may ask an Operator about your current status.
12. Bans are bans. Attempts to get around bans can lead to longer ban time, or even possibly permanent bans. Also, do not repeat things from banned users into the channel. This defeats the point of a ban, and can result in the messenger getting a ban as well.
13. Any attempt to break the rules or cause disruption in the chat room is not allowed. This rule can be considered a "catchall" for those people who try to subtly break rules without actually doing so. Don't try to find loopholes in the rules. We do not allow people to get away with rulebreaking by the use of loopholes.
14. It is your responsibility to check on these rules for updates. While we will announce to the channel that the rules have been updated, it is still your responsibility to make sure you read and understand these rules.
#teamfourstar: Disallowed & Restricted websites
Updated on Friday, March 21st, 2008.
1. Absolutely no shock sites. Those of you likely to post one know what this means.
2. No websites that interfere in the regular performance of web browsers.
3. Due to past abuse, RickRolling for the sake of rickrolling is no longer allowed. Save it for when the time is right. Random rickroll links followed by "lol i rickrolled you" for no reason can now result in a kick. If abuse of RickRoll continues, it may be required that we put all forms of rickrolling as against the rules, so please, cooperate with this.
